THE DESKBLOOM NOTEBOOK
A five-minute desk setup review
Start with what you can adjust without buying anything.
Observe one normal task
Open the kind of work you normally do. Notice what you reach for, what is difficult to read, and what makes you repeatedly reposition. This is an informal observation exercise, not a diagnosis or professional risk assessment.
Your observation checklist
- Readability: Is the text easy to read? Consider software zoom or text size before replacing hardware.
- Reach: Are everyday objects within a comfortable reach? Move one frequently used item closer if useful.
- Reflections: Are reflections making the screen hard to see? Try changing the screen or light position where practical.
- Choice: Can you change tasks or position during the day? Note one manageable opportunity.
- Constraints: What cannot you adjust yourself? Record it for a discussion with your employer or qualified assessor.
Change one thing and check again
Write down what you changed and whether it improved the task experience. Avoid treating a single “ideal posture” diagram as a personalized answer. Persistent discomfort deserves professional attention, not an increasingly expensive shopping list.
